  • Comply with work health and safety (WHS) requirements at all times
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with SOPs

  • Identify information and required test data
  • Select appropriate test(s) which will yield the required data
  • Determine the capacity to undertake required test(s)
  • Confirm capacity to undertake test(s) with selected body
  • Arrange for testing to be carried out in accordance with SOPs
       
Element: Undertake optical emission spectroscopy
  • Prepare sample by test method according to testing requirements
  • Prepare instrument in accordance with procedures using required tools and equipment
  • Test sample in accordance with test instructions
  • Record and check test results and repeat based on test outcomes
       
Element: Interpret test results
  • Check test results are within the expected range and take appropriate action for non-conforming results
  • Perform any required calculations or test data manipulations
  • Determine implications of test results for process and/or product
  • Develop actions to be taken based on test results
  • Communicate required actions to relevant personnel
  • Follow through on communication to check implementation

Assessment Tasks

Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.
